Some works sheets I have done in this math unit. (transformations including translations, rotations and reflections)
- plots points in all 4 quadrants of a Cartesian grid
- identify points of a translated figure in all four quadrants of a Cartesian coordinate system.
Translations, rotations, reflections are all the things I have learned this unit. The three images I have above are some of the worksheets I have completed and as you can see, I got all the questions right on each one of them. I am not just saying that to brag I am just saying that to show you that I learned a lot about this unit and not matter what I understand this area of math. For rotations, we used onion paper and drew the shape on. Then we rotated how much we needs to and then mark it off on the worksheet. The other kind of transformation is the translations. To use translation you use coordinates to move the shape across the page. For example 5 to left and 3 down is used to move the shape according to the coordinates. Last but now least reflections: reflections are very simple; you start with one shape and then using the y or x axis reflection the shape across. Another word for reflecting is flipping because you basically flip the shape across the axis.
