Dear future grade 6 students,
Going into grade six is never easy; first the big and older grade sevens and then rumors of the strict teachers.
Lets start off with the teachers. For me going into grade six was hard because of hearing all the rumors that all the teachers are so mean and strict, terrified me. But I realized that these teachers aren’t so bad once you get to know them, you start to see their fun, happy and funny side, which helped me to start getting comfortable in school. I would recommend that you start the year off on the good side of the teachers, don’t get into any trouble on the first day, week or month. If your teacher has a bad day (which usually happens once in a while don’t let that angriness get in the way of you learning.
Another reason I was terrified to move into Grade six was because the grade sevens looked so big, tall and mean. Well I started to figure out that it’s not true. It would probably help if you let them help you if you don’t get a concept or something. The grade sevens helped me a lot with schoolwork and having others friends to hangout with during recess, lunch and after school. Give the grade sevens a chance; it would help if you kept an open mind on making other friends.
Now we all know school work can be hard and of course it gets harder but that doesn’t me that you should stop trying. Just keep and open mind that the grade sevens have more experience on work and on friendship. If you start to follow behind on your school work you are allowed to come in early before school and don’t leave your school work and homework to the last minute.
Last but not least, grade 6 is not terrifying at all it might seem to be but it is not.
